This week, I engaged on the swirling pattern of sandstorms as an expression of looking at the stillness of desert environment.

Aim: I first practice a few frames of basic scribbled circles and then tried to make the thickness show its strength. Finally, compared with the previous version of the scrawl circle, the shape characteristics of the vortex, the conjecture of color and the consideration of suitability to the environment are analyzed.

Method: I used brushes and other shape tools in TVPaint to paint sandstorms in the form of tornadoes or whirlpools.

Result: The Circle version, while the most dynamic tornado, has exaggerated forms that are unmatched by the other two, but is too sloppy to match the character and the static scene, which means that the character's movement style will also have to be exaggerated, with plenty of deformation, but not in line with a time-bound schedule. The second graffiti style although there is a sense of storm, but the line form is too monotonous, no sense of volume. In contrast, the third vortex scheme was adopted.

Reflection: While this feature is currently not directly related to the plot development of the main character in the anime, it is necessary for the disaster presentation. Drawing the third vortex scheme was a bit more challenging, because according to the perspective principle, it spins and has to rotate around an invisible center.
