In response to this weeks theme of forces, i created a series of monochrome images using adobe photoshop. The external forces that i applied to these were that i could only use black in conjucture with another color, and i had to use a single brush to keep things simple.

In doing this, i think i have shown that an external force can greatly elivate an artwork, specifically by making you aproach creating it in an unconentional way. In this piece, i was forced to ignore the detail that would come with using multiple colors, and instead had to push my attention towards the negative spaces, and using them to create form or the illusion of form.

One of the examples of constraints informing art that jumped at me was Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975). A film that has been described as a "Miserable experience" to make, had a budget far smaller than its creators would have liked. As a result, they could not afford real horses which resulted in Terry Gilliam coming up with the idea of using coconuts to make horse sounds, a recurring joke throughout the film. An iconic film gag, born out of necessity
