Context:

This week’s theme, "Stillness" initially gives me the feeling of relaxation. I appreciated some works in class, among which Chloe Ma's works left a strong impression. She made a photo frame made of plants, like a window to see the outside world. I got a revelation from her work. Silence can be an atmosphere that makes people feel relaxed. Therefore, this week I also want to design a project that makes people experience a quiet atmosphere.

Moreover, Adam Van Winden's work brought some inspiration. He made a dynamic background, but I can feel a kind of quietness from his work. His work made me realize that perhaps dynamic objects can better set off a quiet atmosphere.

So, this week I want to create an interactive web design that can combine dynamic graphics and static images. By controlling the mouse, we can control to play or stop playing sounds and graphics.

Method:

Write code in Visual Studio Code to create interactive web pages, and the mouse controls the change of the picture.

Response:

To continue to learn about interaction design, my project this week is different from the previous ones. I use a new method to control the dog's barking and motion by hovering the mouse. Also, based on the feedback I received last time, I adopted a more stylized style, with more colors, to make the picture more interesting. The sound design is my voice, also to match the image.

Reflection:

Compared to the previous interactive design, I could complete the web design faster. However, during the design process, I also found some problems. For example, I think a single sound is still a bit thin for the contrast between dynamic and static performance, but it is still impossible for me to let the mouse hover to control multiple sounds after some code testing. Therefore, I can only improve it after study continually after class. Finally, after finishing this week’s project, I have learned how to use dynamics to bring out statics and create an atmosphere.
