This week's theme is to enter a premise that suggests a question/problem/conflict/contradiction that can be teased out into a narrative. This theme has given me a lot of ideas and the first thing that comes to mind is ‘what if humans are the same size as other animals (or smaller), Would humans' wisdom be enough to keep them at the top of the food chain?’ First and foremost, I think it is possible because, while humans are not especially massive, they have conquered many large creatures and risen to the top of the food chain thanks to their intellect. But what if humans aren't as tall as the rest of the animals? For example, what if the same size as a cat. Can ‘intellectual’ humans really stand at the top of the food chain as the number of natural predators grows and there is no body size and physical ability advantage? This idea prompted me to consider a number of strange occurrences. Is it likely that beings of greater intelligence than humans are stalking humans?
