Theme: Forces

Context:

For the theme of Forces, I was given three constraints from my classmates which were;
-Star
-Lively
-Backwards

As soon as I received the constraint of 'backwards' I saw it as an opportunity to expand upon the last week's attempt at a gif. I also wanted to play a little bit with the 'star' element given, I love wordplay and didn'r want to settle on a star just being a star, which is why I decided that my star was lively, and youthful. It doesn't quite know its place in the world and subsequently what it wants out of life. It flings back and forth between wanting to be a star in the sky or in the sea, as a starfish.

Wanting it to be the star of the show I made the conscious decision to back the warm colours of the star against cold and warm blues of the sea and sky, much like Van Gogh's 'Starry Night'.

Method: Using Procreate's animation feature I will create a gif.

Response:

I was happier with this attempt at a gif, I followed up on my setback from week 8 of having too little frames. I added in extra and used a streak effect (as shown by Ben in an example after class, to indicate speed). I believe I did a good job of melding all constraints together into this work.
